The FSI or floor space index is calculated using two major components:
Total Area of the building
Total area of the plot on which the building is constructed
Basically the formula to calculate FSI is as follows:
FSI = Total area of the building / total area of the plot on which building is built
Using this formula you can calculate the FSI properly.
For example, Aman has a building with total area of 430 sq ft and the plot on which it is constructed is 400 sq ft.
FSI = 430/400
FSI = 1.07
I hope this example will help you calculate the FSI.
