Hi,
It may happen that sometimes a wrong transaction happens through your bank account. But there is nothing to worry about if you take actions actively and within time.
The remitter/originator is responsible for providing accurate inputs in the payment instructions, including the beneficiary account number information, according to the RBI. Even though the beneficiary's name must be specified in the instruction request and included in the funds transfer message, credit will only be granted based on the account number. Both transaction requests coming from branches and those coming from the online/internet delivery channel fall under this.
Therefore, if you unintentionally transfer money to the incorrect bank account, you can ask your bank for a reimbursement by providing them with the RBI recommendation and stating your situation. However, the recipient must give their consent before the transaction may be reversed.
I hope this helps you.
