A few weeks ago, I asked my father why are kitchens always on the ground floor. He told me it was for convenience; bringing in groceries and supplies is much easier when the kitchen is downstairs, especially in an independent home. But he also shared a few other interesting reasons. I have listed them below.
Why is the Kitchen Rarely Upstairs?
Here are the reasons my father told me for kitchens to be built on the ground floor.
According to Vastu, the kitchen should be on the ground floor because it is a sturdy place. Since we cook food there, it should be in a good, balanced spot.
He also mentioned that it is cheaper and easier to install water and electric lines on the ground floor. Water pressure is better there, so everything functions smoothly.
Finally, he advised me that if the kitchen is upstairs and the dining room is downstairs, you must carry food up and down. That takes more time. So, it is best to have the kitchen on the ground floor.
These are the things my father told me. I hope this helps you.
