Hello. Choosing between home buying in tier 1 vs tier 2 city has to be done by keeping your current situation, your goals and plans in mind. Tier 1 and tier 2 cities have different benefits to offer in terms of home buying. A tier 1 city is a good option if you are looking to settle in that home and in that city. Tier 1 cities have better career opportunities and high end amenities. I will talk more about this below.

Tier 1 vs Tier 2 for House Buying

Here is a comparison between tier 1 and tier 2 cities.

Tier 1

See, tier 1 cities like I said above offer a better lifestyle and growth opportunities in terms of career. But there are other factors that you need to consider. If you want to settle in that city, you actually want a fast-paced life, then tier 1 will be the best. But, tier 1 cities also have higher home prices and are very crowded. The appreciation rate of tier 1 cities has also gone down compared to tier 2 at present. So, compare and then decide.

Tier 2

Compared to tier 1, tier 2 cities have been doing better in terms of appreciation of property. So, if you are going with the approach of investment, you can consider tier 2 cities like Agra, Indore to buy a home in. if you are looking for a slow paced life and want to settle in cities with lesser career opportunities and they fit with your aspirations, tier 2 can be a good option.
