My new home's interior work is about to begin. Before starting, I searched for window glass design ideas online. I came across many options and got curious about which glass is best for windows. I found different types of glasses like low-e glass, thermal glass, toughened glass, and insulated glass, which are good for the home. Each has its own benefits. I will share a quick idea of what I learned.

Which Glass is Best for Home Windows?

1. Toughened glass: I came across toughened glass, which is stronger than normal glass. I liked it because it doesn’t break into sharp pieces, so it’s much safer.

2. Stained glass: This glass looks beautiful and is mostly used for decoration. It has colourful designs and adds a unique look, like you see in old buildings or churches.

3. Insulated glass: I also found insulated glass, which has two or more layers. It helps in keeping the room cool in summer and warm in winter. Plus, it reduces outside noise.

4. Thermal Glass: It’s made to control heat. This glass is useful in areas with very hot or very cold weather. It also helps reduce noise from outside.

5. Low-E glass: Finally, I read about Low-E glass. It blocks UV rays and helps reduce electricity bills. It’s perfect if you want your home to be more energy efficient.

I am planning to install toughened glass in my home after discussing with my interior designer. As it is stronger than normal glass, and won’t break easily.

In areas where the temperature drops to negative degrees, low E-glass will be the best option. It blocks excessive solar heat transfer. These glasses are available in Singular-paned glass, double-glazed or triple-glazed.
