The affordability of a city will depend on the cost of living, type of accommodation, and the general atmosphere of the area. I was in Mumbai for around 4 years before I planned to shift to Pune, as I found the city to be less expensive and more peaceful. Before I shifted, I did a quick research to know which are the affordable cities for relocation in India. Let me share the list of cities I found.
What are Some Affordable Cities for Relocation?
From my research, I found Pune and Indore to be the most affordable and peaceful cities. I shifted to Pune with my family last year, and I can say the cost of living is less than most of the metropolitan cities. Here are some other cities you can consider moving to.
Kolkata
I found Kolkata is “cultural capital of India” and it’s among the most affordable cities to live in. A few of my friends are from here, and I remember them telling me about the budget-friendly lifestyle the city offers.
Indore
This is the cleanest city in India, and also known as ‘Mini Mumbai’. I also found the city is first on the list of cleanliness and pollution-contamination level. I was exploring some rented apartments here, and found that you can get a 2 BHK flat here at Rs. 10,000 per month\'s rent.
Hyderabad
Hyderabad is a major urban centre for technology industry, upscale restaurants, and historic sites. My brother lives in Hyderabad, and he mentioned that the basic two-bedroom apartment costs Rs. 15,000 per month\'s rent, which I find so much better than Mumbai and Bangalore.
Chennai
Also known as
Detroit of India, Chennai offers a simple and peaceful lifestyle. I also learned the real-estate market here is booming at a fast pace, which can be a good sign for livability index.
