Hello Viresh. There are several criteria for making an affidavit for EWS certificate. The first one is that the applicant must belong to the general category and not under any reserved category like SC, ST or OBC. I recently applied for an affidavit for the EWS certificate and had to check all the criteria to be able to get an affidavit. I will share them below.
Eligibility Criteria for Affidavit for Economically Weaker Section
Your family’s annual income must be less than Rs. 8 lakhs as per the previous financial year.
You mustn’t have a residential property of more than 200 square yards in an urban area.
You shouldn’t have more than five acres of agricultural land in rural regions.
If you own any residential plot in a municipal sector, then it must be below 100 square yards and the non-municipality sector must be below 240 square yards.
Your primary income source must be manual labour.
If the head of your family is only a woman.
Both of your parents need to be educated less to higher secondary education.
You need to be a member of the NREGA.

You need to fulfil the criteria mentioned below to apply for an EWS certificate.
Applicants must belong to the general category. The family income of the applicant must be less than 8 lakh rupees per annum. Income sources should count income from all the resources such as salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc.
