As per the Muslim Law the owner of the property has the absolute right till his life.
After the death of the owner, the property will be shared among all nearer heirs.
Unlike Hindu Law, the Muslim Law does not recognise any inheritance right over a property of their grand father.
If a nearer relative is there, he will inherit the entire property excluding the remote heir like grandson.
The share falls to the husband, and if he died after the death of his father you and your children are entitled to it.
If the husband died before the death of his father, no share remains in the properties of his father, so no share is claimed.

Whether daughter in law or grand son can entitled in grandfather's property in muslim law
My grandfather passed away recently, and there’s some confusion in the family about inheritance. I wanted to know under Muslim personal law, does a daughter-in-law (my mother) or a grandson (me) have any legal right to claim a share in my grandfather’s property? I am not sure if me and my mother have the right over this property. Would really appreciate it if someone could explain how inheritance works in such cases.
