I bought a west-facing house last year and my dada ji pointed out that the main door placement is incorrect. He vividly stated that the house can be divided into nine equal parts from the northwest to the southwest corner. I should avoid the rest.
Next, he mentioned that the kitchen should be in the southeast corner, and I should avoid eating while facing the west direction.
Thankfully, the bedroom in my house was in the southwest direction, which was right as per Vastu principles. Although, Dada Ji mentioned if there are any mirrors in the room, I should remove them or at least keep them covered.
Finally, he suggested that I should not keep any glass designs on the west side of the house. This is because the west side of the house receives a lot of sunlight, and having glass structures will overheat the house. He said I can plant trees on the west side of the house to reduce the heating from the sun's rays and keep the house cool.
