What can I Use to Move Furniture Easily?

Since I have to leave my rental apartment in two months, I watched as they used shoulder straps to raise the bed. These are the actions they took.

1. First, they put on the shoulder straps like a T-shirt. The straps crossed at the back, and the buckle was in front.

2. Next, they slid a strong strap under the middle of the almirah. 

3. Then, each of them hooked that strap onto their harness by looping it over the front buckle. They made sure the almirah had a little space off the ground, about five inches, so it wouldn’t drag. 

4. They also tucked in the extra strap so no one would trip.

5. After that, both of them bent their knees, kept their backs straight, and slowly lifted the berow while steadying it with their hands. 

6. Finally, they carefully walked it out and gently set it down.

What can I Use to Move Heavy Furniture?

1. Dolly:

   For moving heavy furniture, a dolly is one of the best options for you. This will ease the pressure on your back when you move the furniture. 

You can use a 4-wheel dolly. But make sure that the furniture is balanced well on the dolly and strapped in with the help of lifting straps.

1. Sliders:

   If you are moving the furniture across the floor and want to avoid scratches on your flooring, then sliders are a good option. This works best when you’re moving furniture within the same house. 

To use, lift one side of the furniture and place the sliders at the bottom of the two legs. Repeat the same process for the other side. You can then push the furniture, and it will slide easily. 

1. Hand Truck:

   The hand truck is your friend for moving furniture up or down the stairs. For this, center the balance of the furniture on the truck and tie it with straps. 

If you are moving downstairs, then stand behind the truck with the handles facing you and the other person a few steps ahead of you. Tilt the truck towards your body and take small steps.

For going upstairs, roll the hand truck backward towards the stairs. Stand on the first step and pull up the truck while it leans towards you. The other person should follow you from the front of the furniture rolled.
