Summary
If your air conditioner isn't blowing cold air, check the thermostat settings (set to "Cool," "Auto"), verify your MCB or circuit breaker and change dirty air filters, which are common causes. Then, check the outdoor condenser unit for debris and refrigerant leaks. If you are unable to identify the problem, contact a professional technician.

You must check the thermostat settings, air filters, power supply, and outdoor unit performance if your air conditioner isn't blowing cold air. Airflow obstructions, low refrigerant, or electrical faults are common causes of cooling problems. So, if you are facing this issue, you must go through these checks to find out the actual problem:

  • Thermostat Setting

Your thermostat may operate continuously if it is set to Fan, but the air conditioner won't cool to the desired temperature. Thus, ensure the fan is set to "Auto," not "On," and you need to set the mode to Cool.

  • Air Filter

Your air conditioner will run instead of blowing cool air if your filters get clogged, which restricts airflow and prevents the filter from functioning properly. Alternatively, it causes the freezing of the evaporator coil, which would reduce the quantity of cold air that can enter your home and chill it.

To fix it, keep checking your AC filter monthly and get it cleaned. Don’t forget to dry them completely before refitting.

  • Power Supply

Your air conditioner may not function properly if there are any power problems. Therefore, you need to inspect your MCB or circuit breaker for a tripped breaker and get it fixed right away.

  • Outdoor Unit (Condenser)

Make sure that the exterior unit is operational and hasn't tripped. Clear away any obstacles, leaves, and dust. Additionally, ensure the fan is spinning normally.

  • Refrigerant Leak

Low gas could also be the problem if the air is blown by the air conditioner, but it's not cold. You can also find it if you hear a hissing sound or observe ice forming on interior pipes. To fix it, it’s best to call a professional AC technician.

Hope you get an idea of what to check if AC is not blowing cold air.
