The Commission, by order dated 30.03.2023 in Case No. TP - 98/22-23, has determined the Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) for 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 under the eighth control period, as well as the Revenue recoverable through tariff, detailed tariff schedule along with related conditions, and wheeling charges for the year 2023-24. 

The following lists the revenue recoverable through tariffs as well as the average tariff that the Commission has approved for 2023–2024:

WBSEDCL follows a slab-based billing system for residential electricity consumption. So, what is WBSEDCL electricity rate? If you use 250 units in a month, your bill is calculated across different slabs.

1. The first 102 units are charged at Rs. 5.30 per unit

2. The next 78 units fall under the Rs. 5.97 per-unit slab

3. The remaining 70 units are billed at Rs. 6.97 per unit. 

This tiered structure ensures that charges increase gradually with higher usage.

Apart from energy charges, your monthly bill also includes additional components such as fixed charges, which depend on your connected load in kW or kVA. You may also find government taxes, fuel surcharge, and electricity duty added to the total amount, making the final bill slightly higher than the energy cost alone.
