The Indian government raised the total expenditure for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and increased it by Rs 79,000 crore in the recently released Union Budget 2023. The Maharashtra government has made the decision to construct more than 3.75 lakh homes through the PMAY programme by the end of 2024. These 3.75 lakh units are a portion of the state's 15.82 lakh sanctioned units from 2015, of which 6.93 lakh, or 44%, have been finished. In an effort to lessen the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Center changed the original completion date for the 2015 aim from 2022 to 2024.
