My friend told me that the accounts that do not have chequebooks, it's necessary to maintain the Rs. 500 minimum balance in Urban, Metro, and Semi-Urban areas. But when it comes to Rural areas, Rs. 200 is the amount.
Whereas, for accounts with cheque books the Karnataka bank's current account minimum balance is Rs. 2000 in Urban and Metro areas. But the amount gets decreased to Rs. 1000 in Semi-Urban and Rural areas.
