I own a DDA flat, and recently I was curious about what is the life expectancy of a DDA flat? Although it's a well-known fact that no structure lasts forever, I quickly started researching online and came to know that it is somewhere around 50 years, but it also depends on a few factors, such as the construction quality and maintenance of the building.

What is the Age Limit for DDA Flat?
As I already said that the average lifespan of a DDA flat is around 50 years, but this depends on maintenance. DDA adheres to ISI standards for the furnishings and building materials used in apartments. I have shared a few points to increase the lifespan of a flat,
I learned we shouldn’t plant trees near the building as trees like Banyan and Coconut have highly invasive roots. They can crack cement walls and cause damage to the house.
Another thing that I learned was to address all leakages and dampness in the house immediately. This is because, over time, the seepage will erode the walls and reduce the life expectancy of the house.
Running water through unused spaces needs to be carried out without fail on regular basis. The idea here is to prevent grime and dirt to build up in the areas.
These are a few basic things that you can try. Apart from that, you need regular maintenance to make it last longer.
