Being a landlord myself, I can explain: what is the landlord? It’s actually quite simple, a landlord is someone who owns a house, land, or property and allows others to stay in it. I can rent out the place, and the person living there is called a tenant. But being a landlord is not only about owning property, it’s also about managing it properly and maintaining a good bond with tenants.
What are Landlords?
In India, landlords are of different types, depending on the property they rent out.
Individual landlords are usually people who own more than one house or flat. They rent out the extra one to earn some extra income.
Corporate landlords are mostly companies or groups that take properties on lease from the actual owner. They then rent them out, usually large commercial spaces, and share a part of the profit.
Institutional landlords include large organisations, such as REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). They manage many properties together and rent them out to generate a steady income.
Landlords in India can be individuals, corporates, or institutions. Whatever the type, every landlord earns through rent. Hope this helps you.
