Recently, I bought a commercial space for my new restaurant. While exploring flooring options, I came across WPC and SPC flooring, both types of luxury vinyl. Since the space will see a lot of foot traffic, I wanted to understand the difference between WPC and SPC flooring. So, I looked into their core materials and durability to figure out which one would be a better fit for a commercial setup.
What is the Difference Between SPC and WPC?
From my research, I found that SPC flooring gets its extra strength from a stone composite core, though it tends to be inflexible and feels colder underfoot.
WPC, in contrast, has a softer core that offers more comfort and warmth, which makes it more suitable for home interiors.
WPC is often recommended for areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, mainly due to its comfort and flexibility.
SPC, however, is considered a better fit for commercial spaces like mine, as it handles heavy foot traffic without damage.
Another plus I noticed, both WPC and SPC are fully waterproof, so spills or moisture won’t be an issue at all.
After understanding the difference between SPC and WPC flooring, I planned to go with SPC flooring. It Is the only one that can handle heavy foot traffic without damage. I hope this helps you.
