Hi there Muskan,

A nuclear family is a compact family unit made up only of the children and parents, whereas a joint family is a bigger family unit made up of both the immediate family and the extended family.

The two sorts of families which can be seen in our culture are nuclear families and joint families. A nuclear family consists of a married couple and their kids. But on the other hand, a joint family encompasses more than just one generation living together under one roof. Both of these forms of families have advantages and disadvantages.

If you want to know more about the differences between a nuclear family and a joint family, you can go through the following answer I found on the NoBroker Forum which enlists all the differences between the two in a clear tabular format.
