A few years ago, I didn't quite know what is the difference between common seal and rubber stamp. To me, both were the same. I just knew both are used to approve a document and make it legally true. But the list of difference between seal and stamp is huge. I would be glad to share a few with you all for your better understanding.

What is the difference between notary seal and stamp?

The differences between a notary seal and notary stamp are:

Aspect  Notary Seal Notary Stamp

Design

A device with the notary's information engraved on it, creates a raised impression without using ink.

A rubber or polymer stamp with the notary's essential information, used to leave a clear, inked impression on the document.

Format

Leaves a raised impression on the paper.

Leaves an inked impression on the paper

Usage

Provides an additional layer of security to notarized documents. Often used for important or sensitive documents.

Used for day-to-day notarization, providing quick and efficient notarial markings.

Portability

Often bulkier and less portable due to its design. Typically used in the notary's office or other fixed locations.

Portable and easily carried by notaries to various locations where they perform notarial duties.

Ink Required

Does not require ink, as it creates an impression through pressure and embossing.

Requires ink to create the impression on the document.

So this is the difference between stamp and seal. There might be more but as of now these are all I can think of.
