Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA)
Functions
To run surveys of the Bangalore Metropolitan Region and make reports on the said surveys.
To create a structural plan for the development of the Bangalore Metropolitan Region.
To facilitate the implementation of the structure plan developed by them.
To come up with schemes as necessary for the implementation of the structural plan.
BMRDA raises funds for projects and schemes for the development of the region.
It assists the local authorities in the area in delivering the said projects and schemes.
Bangalore Development Authority
Functions
BDA’s Administrative Department takes care of all the matters regarding the site and house allotment, CA sites and their post-allotment work.
BDA also collects property tax for sites/houses and lease amounts from commercial shops.
The Engineering Department of BDA executes developmental schemes in the layouts and the construction of infrastructure works.
Monitoring the execution of water supply and underground drainage works in BDA layouts taken up by BWSSB and electrification tasks done by BESCOM.
BDA’s land Acquisition Department works closely with the Engineering Department to acquire lands needed for executing developmental schemes.
The Town Planning Department of BDA prepares and revises the Master Plan for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Area, approves Development Plans for Layouts and Group Housing Schemes, prepares layout plans and assists the authority in its role as the Planning Authority of the city.
