The term "Jagir" was used in the Mughal days. I believe this term has become completely obsolete now. "Jagir" was used to refer to a piece of land or property that was granted or assigned to an individual or a family by a ruling authority, often as a reward or as part of an inheritance. This type of land grant came with certain rights and privileges, and the recipient of the Jagir may be responsible for paying taxes or providing services to the ruling authority in return.
