Due to my job, I had to move to Odisha a few months back. Before I moved, I wanted to gather a few basic information about that place. I have a friend in Odisha and asked him to help me out with those. I asked him about the rent, Odisha electricity bill per unit, etc. Here is what he had told me about the electricity per unit cost.
What is the Cost of 1 Unit Electricity in Odisha?
My friend told me that the price of a unit of electricity depends on the amount of electricity consumed. To make it easier for you, I am adding all that information in a tabular format.
Units Consumed | Per Unit Cost (Rs.) |
Below 50 |
3 |
50 - 200 |
4 |
200 - 400 |
5.80 |
After receiving this information, I decided to learn about the process of calculating the electricity cost based on the electric unit price in Odisha.
The meter reading is given in kWh, and 1kWh is equal to 1 unit.
To find the total unit consumed in the current month, you need to subtract the meter reading of last month from the current month.
Suppose the total meter reading is 705 units, and last month, it was 500 units.
So, the units current month consumed this month will be
705 - 500 = 205 units.
Now, you can check which bracket this falls under and multiply it by the electricity bill per unit rate in Odisha.
205 x 5.80 = Rs. 1189
So, the amount you are paying is Rs. 1189. I hope this information about Odisha electricity bill per unit has been helpful.
