Just to reiterate what Shrishti said regarding Porcha meaning, I would like to say that the Record of Rights (ROR) is a crucial document that lists all relevant information about a piece of land or property, including the previous owners' names. The West Bengal government's Land and Land Reforms Department has the ROR of land, also referred to as "Porcha of land" in Bengali.

While buying a property in West Bengal,  you will need to know details about the plot. Porcha or Record Of Right contains information about the plot. This includes a map of the plot, list of previous owners of the plot. 

Porcha falls under the jurisdiction of the Land and Land Reforms Department of the West Bengal government. You will be issued a land porcha if your property falls under the Panchayat area. On the other hand, you will not be issued a porcha if your land falls under the municipality area.

•  List of names of previous owner(s) of the land.

•  Name of the current owner of the land

•  Nature of the property 

•  Total value of the property

•  Area of the property, etc.

Accessing ROR or Porcha just got easier. Porcha can be accessed online as well as offline. 

• Visit the official website of Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department -

  BanglarBhumi

• Once the portal is open, select the ‘Citizen Services’ option.

• Log into your account with the required credentials.

• From the menu bar select the option called’ Service Delivery’.

• Further select ‘ROR Request’.

• Provide the details asked in the form.

• The processing fee of ROR will be calculated and displayed on the screen.

• Pay the application fee and hit enter.

• Once the application request is processed you will be notified.

• It might take 24-48 hours for your land porcha request to be processed.

• You can now download the ROR or porcha.
