A low cost modular kitchen in Bangalore should often starts at Rs. 90,000 and can go high up to Rs. 5,00,000. The design, materials, finish, appliances, and accessories would all play a role in getting the exact pricing. I requested multiple quotes for modular kitchens from German-sounding companies. The quotations I received ranged from Rs. 2200 to Rs. 6000 per sq ft.
I then followed a builder's advice and went to Commercial Street in Bangalore. It took me 11 hrs to purchase, travel back and forth. There, I asked for the low cost modular kitchen price in Bangalore. They said it starts at Rs. 55,000. However, I paid Rs. 60,000 for the same wooden doors, cutlery units, handles, etc., based only on pictures.
The granite slab and additional accessories cost an additional Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 18,000, and a carpenter charged Rs. 85,000.
For the same quality, the entire package cost me about Rs 2.05 lakhs.
Names that sound German or Italian, such as Hacker, Himmler, etc., will charge between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 6000 per sq ft. If you visit Commercial Street to purchase and hire a skilled carpenter, you can get a modular kitchen for Rs. 700 to Rs. 1500 sq foot. Regarding the oven, chimney, etc., I purchased them at retail.
But, if you are hiring a professional interior designer, do ask for the modular kitchen designs with price in Bangalore, and choose it by yourself.

- Cabinets and Storage Shelf: The storage is important element of a kitchen to make it look organised. You can opt for drawers, tall units, base or wall units. The cost depends on material used like MDF, plywood or solid wood and finishes like acrylic, veneer or laminate.
- Countertops: Quartz, granites are some popular choices for countertops. Granite is cheaper, comes in various colour options and is more suited for Indian Cooking.
- Backsplash: The tiles or glass behind the countertop is called backsplash. The cost depends on quality of tiles and the design layout that you choose. E.g. I opted for herringbone layout pattern to give my kitchen a stylish modern look.
- Hardware: The hardware like hinges, handles, channels etc should be used from a good quality brand, which don't rust easily. I opted for Hafele hardware while availing modular kitchen design via NoBroker.
- Appliances: The hob, chimney, refrigerators, built-in oven and microwave are the kitchen essential appliances and you should keep aside some budget towards them depending on the brand that you choose from.
- Lighting: Apart from over-head lighting, you can choose task lighting, ambient lighting as well as under-cabinet lighting in kitchen.
- Electric and Plumbing Work: These are important for installation of lighting, appliances, sinks, dishwashers and so on in the kitchen.
