What is Limewash Paint?

What is the Meaning of Limewash Paint?

The limewash paint is quite an old paint type but is in trend. It comes as one of the first ever house paints from the Roman and Mediterranean areas. This paint comes with several natural advantages. 

Limewash paint is nontoxic, breathable, eco-friendly, and bacteria and mould-resistant due to a high pH level. When you apply the limewash paint over the walls, you won’t experience any odour because it contains no VOCs.

This paint is quite different when compared to other lime based paints, like the Venetian plaster. I say so because the Venetian one is much thicker, with a polished and formal finish. 

What does Limewash Paint do?

Here, I am sharing a few ways to use limewash paint in your house areas.

1. Living Room: If you have a large living room space with tall ceilings, limewash paint would be perfect to add a touch of quiet warmth to the area. This will help in reducing negative space.

2. Bedroom: Limewash is a great way to make your bedroom feel comfortable. The texture of the limewash, which is chalky and muddled, creates a relaxing experience. You can maximise the effect by painting the walls and ceilings in the same colour.
