What is the industrial property definition real estate?

A property that is used for industrial purposes like manufacturing, storing, transporting and more is called an industrial property. It is one of the two subsets of intellectual property, the other being copyright.

What are the types of industrial property real estate?

There are 8 types of properties that fall under the industrial category and let me tell you about all of them here in brief:

  • Manufacturing:

without producing or manufacturing the products, an industry cannot flourish. Now manufacturing can be further classified into two types: light and heavy.

Light:

Light manufacturing means manufacturing less qUANtity or easy type of products that do not need vigorous lifting, labour work, processing and more. The spaces for light manufacturing are small and grow as per the demand for manufactured products.

  Heavy:

Heavy manufacturing refers to the manufacturing of heavy-duty materials or products. There are way bigger areas compared to the light manufacturing industries and need machines, labor, vehicles and more to get work done.

  • Storage and distribution sites:

Manufacturing goods isn't enough if you do not distribute them. Take for example Flipkart, they take orders, store them, and dispatch them to the customers. They have several warehouses for their goods situated at every corner of the country. So they have

  Distribution warehouse:

The products of the industry get distributed to several corners of the country or state first and then transported to the customers.

  Truk terminal:

Devoted to dispatching and transportation of manufactured products mainly.

  • Research area:

An industry can also have a research area so that they can ponder upon what is good or what is bad for the industry. They research in these spaces about what can benefit the industry more.

  • Showrooms:

Industries like clothing industries must have several showrooms to attract customers and sell their products. The more showrooms or shops there are, the more the products are going to get sold.

These are some of the main types of industrial property. I hope this information has helped you to understand

what is industrial property in real estate.
