In India, the commercial electricity rate is the cost at which businesses are charged for the consumption of electrical power. It is usually calculated in rupees per kilowatt-hour (₹/kWh). I am a resident of WB so I am well aware of the residential and commercial electricity rate per unit in West Bengal.
What is the Rate of Commercial Electricity per Unit in West Bengal?
The commercial electricity per unit charge in West Bengal is currently at Rs 7.52.
How to Calculate Electricity Rate?
There is no slab unit rate for commercial consumers, as no subsidy on their type of metre connection is levied. The average commercial electricity rate at CESC or Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited, is "6.40." Here is an example to help you understand how you can calculate the electricity bill of a consumer.
Suppose your consumed unit is 9380 and your electricity rate is 6.40
Your electricity bill will be 9380 * 6.40 = Rs. 60032
Some other charges, like fixed charges, fuel surcharge adjustments, and others, are also levied, so that might raise the bill. Let's say the charge is Rs. 10805.76
Now total electricity bill = Energy Charges + Other Charges = 60032 + 10805.76 = 70575.99
Per unit cost = Total Electricity Bill / Consumed Units (70575 / 9380) = 7.52
So the per Unit cost is Rs 7.52
So this is the rate of commercial electricity in West Bengal per unit. If you have any more questions, let me know in the comments below.
