Hi, I am a retired government employee, and I had a property that I leased out to a shop a few years back. Recently, the agreement expired, and I asked that person to move out. He told me that he wouldn’t be moving out and made modifications to the property without my permission. As I wasn’t able to get back my property, I got in touch with a legal expert to find a solution to the issue.
How to Get Back Your Commercial Property from Your Tenant?
The legal expert suggested a few measures that I could take. I have listed all of those below.
He suggested that I should send an eviction notice mentioning the reason for the eviction. He also said I must mention the time and date by which the tenant has to vacate the property.
If that doesn’t work, then the next step should be to file a suit of eviction against the tenant. The suit is filed in a civil court under whose jurisdiction the rented property is situated.
The court will hear the arguments of both sides and issue a final legal notice for eviction for the tenant based on the arguments and evidence presented. Once the final notice arrives, the tenant needs to vacate the property.
These are some of the steps that the legal expert suggested to me. Following this, I filed a suit of eviction against the tenant, and he had to ultimately vacate the property after that.
