Domicile certificate is a very important document and my father repeatedly told me to get it as soon as possible and I did get it recently. It acts as a proof of residence and is issued by the state government.
Documents required to get it are:
Residential proof of land or house
Identity proof: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Ration Card, Driving Licence
Birth Certificate
Passport size photograph
Self Declaration Form
A local authority can give you the form so just get one from them and proceed.
