What is the Standard Size Curtain Lengths?

Here the first value is the width, and the second one is the height. 

• 5 foot window: 60 x 60 inch (standard curtain length) or 1.5 x 1.5 m 

• 7 feet Door: Choose curtains that hang just a little bit longer than the door itself.  84 inches by 60 inches or 1.5 by 2.1 meters 

• 8-foot long door: A bit longer than the 7-foot door, but still comparable. 96 inches by 60 inches or 1.5 by 2.4 meters. 

• 9-foot-long door: Longer curtains will keep the room looking more refined. (1.5 x 2.7 meters) or 60 x 108 inches 

From my experience, I can say that each curtain set covers a 5 foot width; if your window is up to 6 feet wide, one set will work well; if it is wider, I advise buying two sets.

I want you to know that the sizes vary mostly in length as most standard curtain panels are 48-inch wide. It is a near-universal rule. The idea is that if you have super-wide windows, you’d be able to line many curtains together – so the main challenge is to search for the right length.

Generally, you will find curtains in the following lengths:

• 63-inch

• 84-inch

• 96-inch

• 108-inch

• 120-inch

The perfect curtain size that you will require will be determined by your ceiling’s height and the desired effect. There’s plenty of room to play around with here, and there’s just a single rule of thumb: don’t purchase curtains that are just the same length as the window. They wouldn’t offer enough coverage.

Your perfect curtain size should always begin at a minimum of 6-inch over the window’s size. This will offer you a great 4-inch of space above the curtain for fitting the rod, plus a minimum of a few extra inches below the window. The latter will ensure that you won’t face any privacy issues during a passing breeze.
