You can update your personal information like personal details, contact details and all other remaining details by logging into the official website of the income tax department. All your details in the income tax department should be correct and as per your all the other legal documents. I will walk you through the process to change personal and other details.
Step by step guide to change personal details:
1) Log in to the e-filing portal at
www.incometax.gov.in
2) Select 'My Profile' from the dropdown menu by clicking on your profile image in the upper right side. You can also click the 'Update Profile' button.
3) In the 'Profile' area, click the edit button.
4) Then you will see all the information there, just edit the details you want to be changed.
5) Once you've filled in all of the necessary information, click 'Save' to continue. Your profile information has been successfully updated.
