My uncle owns a Pagdi property and always keeps himself updated with all the latest news and changes regarding the Pagdi system. According to him, if a building is refurbished, people who resided in pagdi system buildings before June 13th, 1996 and were not cessed are eligible for new apartments. Additionally, if a renter has transferred the public system unit in the name of another person after meeting the required legal conditions, the new occupant will be qualified for housing following redevelopment.
By offering landlords appealing incentives based on the total area needed to renovate the current tenants after reconstruction, the renters shall become the flat owners, the new Development Control and Promotion Regulations (DCPR 2034) encourage the rebuilding of these pagdi systems structures.
