Hi, the RO does have the power to postpone the elections but if you think that this unfair and abuse of power, here is what you can do:
You can write an objection letter to the RO and the society secretary and ask for reasoning for postponement. Also seek a revised election schedule as per the bye-laws.
If the RO doesn’t act or provide a satisfactory solution, file a formal complaint with the Registrar of Co operative Societies.
For unresolved complaints, you can file a formal case in the Co operative court or the relevant Civil Court once the election is completed.

RO postponed group housing society election citing eligibility and dues. What are members’ rights?
Election in my group housing society was to be conducted on 19.1.26, but after filing of nominations, RO suddenly postponed the election on the ground that to ascertain eligibility and outstanding dues. Is this right and what remedy is available to me.
