How long notice do you have to give to a landlord?
If you want to move out of the place and your lease is up, then there is no need to give notice to the landlord about moving out. But, when the lease expires and converts to a monthly basis, you have to give prior notice about it.
You have to give written notice of about 28 days before leaving the property. For example, if your agreement is going to end on the 1st of June, you should not deliver the notice letter to the landlord after the 1st of May.
The ideal time to inform the landlord about vacating the property is 28-30 days before leaving the property. As you are living in the apartment legally for a long period, it’s your duty to inform the landlord about the same.
