Q.

Properties were bought by my grandfather and great-grandfather around 1903 to 1930 for which we have original documents as well. However since we moved overseas many years ago, people who are not related to us have taken patta for these lands in their name. How can we acquire them back?

If you have all the documents available with you, you’ll be able to claim the properties hasslefree because being the legal heirs, you have the full right to claim your properties. Visit the sub-registrar’s office in the jurisdiction where the property is situated. You’ll get your issue resolved there.
