You need reasonable ground to evict the tenants. However, if you given them enough time to vacate the property with a proper notice period, you may ask them to vacate. But, if they are not vacating after that, seek help from an advocate to issue a legal notice against them.

Procedure to evict tenants of previous owners without rental agreement? We recently purchased a property in Chennai which had tenants occupying, some of whom didn't have rental agreements. We want to evict one such tenant, at first he asked for more time and we gave him over 6 months but now he's refusing to leave if we don't pay him 4L RS. (For no reason). What can we do to remove him from our property ASAP?
