Hi there
Previously one needed to visit the bank, fill up a form and then get their mobile number linked with their account but with digital India things have become easier. You just need to visit the ATM, provide the PIN and choose the option of updating mobile number and get it done. You can also link it via net banking portal.
I got it linked by visiting the netbanking portal. You can do it too. I got helped from an answer from NoBroker Forum only so you can read it as well:
