In comparison to adjoining areas like Dwarka, Vikas Puri and Janakpuri, Uttam Nagar has a lower cost of living. There is plenty of new development with multi-story apartments and builder floors being constructed.

The area is well connected to the rest of Delhi via the Blue line metro and roadways (Pankha Road, Najafgarh Road, Outer Ring Road). Prominent areas like Rajouri Garden, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Mayur Vihar, Dwarka and Noida can be easily accessed.

There are small pockets of greenery with a few parks spread around.

There are numerous micro-markets where you will get everything ranging from clothing to kitchenware.

There are numerous prestigious schools, banks, hospitals, and recreational facilities in the area.
Cons:

It is one of the most densely populated areas of West Delhi. Traffic during peak hours is not anything less of a nightmare.

The streets are narrow and encroached with illegal stalls and shops.

The streets of the area are not properly maintained, and garbage and animal faeces is a common sight.
