Ripple is both a platform and a currency and the payment network is called RippleNet. Ripple’s cryptocurrency is named Ripple XRP. Through RippleNet, many banks and other big institutions have been connected to enable transfer money and various other assets through the network.
XRP ledger is a decentralized cryptographic ledger powered by a network of peer-to-peer servers. The payment network uses the Ripple XRP currency for all transactions. It reduces the time and money for cross-border payments.
Like any other Cryptocurrency, many people have already been investing in Ripple. However, speaking about the long-term investment, Ripple isn’t a preferable choice even though the returns are higher in a short time frame, the risks are much higher in Ripple.
