Is portable AC good option?
To be very honest, my mother is very happy with the portable AC I bought for her. It is not able to cool the room as fast as the regular or window ACs but does decrease the temperature by about 5 degrees Fahrenheit within half an hour. The best part is it is easily moveable from one place to another.
Are portable AC units effective?
Now there is a difference between whether portable ACs are good or not and whether they are effective or not. If you want to know its efficiency, I would personally say that it is not worth it and thus must be avoided until absolutely necessary. It is a good idea to have a portable AC but do know that it takes more BTUs and therefore consumes more electricity to cool a place compared to that of a window AC.
