Playing in housing societies after 10 PM is usually not allowed. This can be common during summer holidays and school vacations, when children often want to play late at night. However, the society where I stay has strict rules in place and prohibits playing after 10 PM. In residential areas, noise limits are usually higher during the day but must be much lower from 10 PM to 6 AM to avoid disturbing others.

What are the Noise Pollution Limits in Residential Areas?

In residential areas, daytime noise should not exceed 55 decibels, and at night it must stay below 45 decibels to ensure peace. If you create noise after 10 PM, you may face several consequences:

  1. Neighbours might complain to the society management.

  2. The society could issue a warning or fine you for disturbing the peace.

  3. In some cases, local authorities or police may get involved and take action.

  4. It can harm your relationship with neighbours and create conflicts.

  5. Persistent noise violations might lead to legal consequences under noise pollution laws.

Hope this helps you.
