Hi,
I think you must be aware that Hindus staunchly believe that pitru paksha pooja
brings their ancestor's tranquillity. Offerings presented to the deceased during Pitru Paksha are said to provide serenity to their souls and aid them in reaching their divine destiny, according to the sacred texts of the Bhagavad and the Vedas.
Also, I believe paternal love is way beyond any pooja. If you have an issue with your father, you should discuss it with him, rather than conducting a pooja for it.
But if you wish to perform a pitru paksha pooja for your ancestors, you may surely do so for their peaceful abode.
