As a legal service provider, I can tell you that legal services are indeed subject to GST (Goods and Services Tax) in India. This means that any legal services that I provide to my clients, such as drafting legal documents, providing legal advice, or representing them in court, are subject to gst on legal services at the prevailing rate.

Under GST, legal services fall under the category of "services" and are taxed at the standard rate of 18%. This means that any legal services I provide will have GST charged at 18% of the total invoice amount. My clients will be required to pay this GST in addition to the fees they are already paying for my legal services.

It is important to note that GST is a "value-added tax" which means that it is only charged on the value added at each stage of the supply chain. In the case of legal services, this means that GST  legal services is only charged on the value added by me, the legal service provider. It is not charged on the value added by any previous service providers in the supply chain.

In addition to charging GST on the legal services I provide, I am also required to register for GST and file regular returns. This includes filing a monthly return, known as GSTR-3B and an annual return GSTR-9. These returns are mandatory to file, it helps the government to track the transactions, and it also helps the business to claim the input credit.

As a legal service provider, it is important for me to understand my GST obligations and to ensure that I am charging and remitting the GST rate for legal services correctly. Some clients might have confusion about the GST charged and it's my responsibility to clear their doubts and provide them with the correct information.

I hope your doubts on GST on legal services have been resolved.
