PAN card stands for Permanent Account Number. It is a 10 digit unique number issued by the Income Tax Department to taxpayers. My daughter got her PAN card early this year and went on to show it to a few people. She had no idea about is it safe to share PAN card number or not, so I advised her to keep such vital details to herself. PAN details can be misused in multiple ways. In India, PAN details are required if you purchase a huge sum of gold
Hotels or during vehicle booking, PAN card details are at times required so scammers can use your details and book services fraudulently
