Hello,
When my father died a few years ago, we followed these steps to find his movable and immovable properties:
Check the deceased person’s smartphone or laptop for clues and look for the pile of documents at home.
Reach out to his chartered accountant/financial advisors/agents to consult and get the required info.
Get a Succession Certificate as this will help you transfer his assets in your name.
How to obtain succession certificate?
File an RTI to get the info of commercial and residential property registered in the deceased’s name.
File an FIR with the local police station and apply for the certified copy of the property documents in the nearest registrar office.
How to get duplicate copy of property document?
