A few months back, when I shifted to a new rental apartment, I found my name on the rent agreement was wrong. To change name on rental agreement, I asked my lawyer friend. She said you can recover the actual rent agreement, any duplicates, and correct the name with the landlord's consent. Both the tenant's and landlord's certified signatures you should get as justification for the correction. You can even make a new rent agreement and end the old one.
