I read a few news articles that talk about the ‘three children norm’ in the local body elections. According to the rule, any person with three children or more is not eligible to contest municipal polls as also elections to the posts of sarpanch, MPTC and ZPTC. Those who have less than three children are eligible to contest. This ruling has been given by the Supreme Court and is followed throughout the country.
