If your HRA exceeds Rs 1 lakh per annum, you are required to provide the PAN details of your landlord. Each landlord for whom you are paying rent and whose rent contributes to the HRA calculation should have their PAN mentioned.
Since your new landlord has provided the PAN details, that part is covered. However, if your older landlord is not providing the PAN details, it might pose a challenge. In such cases, you should try to obtain a rent receipt or any other documentation from your older landlord, even if they don't have a PAN.

I changed my PG in August. So from April to July, I was paying 8k, while changing to another PG, where I am paying 10k and for that, I have rental agreements and slips. Due to this, my total HRA exceeded 1 lakh. Could you please let me know if I need a PAN copy of my landlord whom I am paying 10K or I need a PAN copy of my older landlord as well whom I am only paying 8k? I asked my older landlord but they don’t provide an PAN copy for April to July. If we still need a PAN copy for the older landlord, can I mention 8k for the remaining months from August to March as 8k with the original 10k proof?
