In this case, you can claim HRA exemption, by making a valid rent agreement and paying rent to your partner as per the terms of the rent agreement. Your partner needs to provide you with rent receipts for the rent you are paying.
You also need to submit a declaration to your employer and your employer may require you to fill out Form 12BB. If the total rent paid by you during the financial year exceeds Rs. 1,00,000, you also need to provide your partner's PAN to your employer.
