Converting agricultural land to a residential one is not an easy process. Online conversion takes a lot of time and is an intimidating process. Also using agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes is a crime and one can spend up to 3 years in prison if they violate this law. I will state all the pointers below on conversion of land from agricultural to non-agricultural.

How to do agricultural land to residential land conversion?
You need to take consent from local authorities to convert your land. You need to submit an application to convert agricultural land to non-agricultural land to the Land Revenue Commissioner stating why you want to convert your land. You also have to provide other details such as the extent of the land, kinds of crops that are produced on your property, the type of soil, mortgages, names of the previous owner etc.
To convert your land for residential purposes you required documents like:ID proof of the owner
Nil-encumbrance certificate
Survey map of the land
Documents stating how the land is utilized
Sale deed's copy
RTC document
Mutation documents
7/12 extract (if required)
Water portability Certificate
NOC from municipality
If you want to build a house, the house project is needed
Payment receipt
If you are living in Karnataka you can also apply online to convert your agricultural land by visiting the Bhoomi portal. Although, I would suggest you opt for the offline process as it is hassle-free compared to the online method.
I hope you have an idea now about the conversion of land from agricultural to non-agricultural.
